Waldorf School of Princeton

A School For Our Time

The Campaign for the Waldorf School of Princeton

Bringing the Waldorf School of Princeton and Orchard Farm Organics into a combined entity

and expanding the Early Childhood program to serve children and community.

Together we can raise a million!

A Special Moment

Since 1987, the Waldorf School of Princeton has fostered a culture of meaningful human engagement and connection to nature. Recognizing the importance of integrating the work of faculty and students with the land, our founding teacher, Caroline Phinney, and her husband Bob, purchased the 61 acres of property that surround our School - creating what is now known as Orchard Farm.

As we celebrate the School’s 40th anniversary and the 30th reunion of our first graduating class - the shared vision of securing this surrounding land for future generations of students is within reach. Our School’s values are more relevant today than ever before - and the Waldorf School of Princeton is uniquely positioned to answer the growing call for place-based, human-centered education, preparing young people for the unprecedented challenges of our world.

Our Vision

In 2021, the School’s Board of Trustees and College of Teachers developed a comprehensive Nine Year Vision to further transform the Waldorf School of Princeton into a beacon of excellence in Waldorf education and child-centered learning. This vision - to educate and inspire inventive, skilled stewards of our shared world - now informs every aspect of our current thinking and our strategic planning.

In 2023/24 we need to take two important steps toward implementing this vision:

  1. Acquire Orchard Farm: $750k

  2. Expand our Early Childhood program: $250k

Achieving the Vision

With a goal of raising $1M in philanthropy, the Waldorf School of Princeton has an unprecedented opportunity for transformation through the purchase of Orchard Farm and the expansion of Early Childhood programs.

Throughout our 40-year history, our school and its surrounding community have risen to every challenge. At this extraordinary moment, we ask our community to come together once again, as partners, in a bold plan for the Waldorf School of Princeton’s future. Reaching our $1 million fundraising goal and purchasing Orchard Farm in 2023 is essential to the long-term sustainability of our school. We have already passed the half-way mark in this campaign and hope to finish it up by year’s end.
