Waldorf School of Princeton
The Waldorf School of Princeton is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Camp Support Leader to join our 2025 Summer Camp team. Rooted in the Waldorf tradition, our camp offers a nurturing environment where children can explore, create, and thrive through meaningful, hands-on experiences.
Position Details
- Schedule: June 23 – August 1, 2024 (no camp on July 4)
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM daily (7.5 hours/day)
- Compensation: $33/hour
- Background Check: Successful completion required
Key Responsibilities
The Camp Support Leader plays an integral role in fostering a joyful and enriching camp experience for our campers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting and implementing age-appropriate programming in alignment with Waldorf values—through storytelling, music, movement, crafts, games, and nature-based exploration
- Assisting lead teachers in specialized classes.
- Providing attentive supervision and guidance for up to 20 campers, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being
- Collaborating with the Camp Director and Administrative Staff as needed to support daily camp operations
- Attending pre-camp orientations and staff meetings
- Creating and maintaining an orderly, clean, and welcoming environment before, during, and after each camp day
- Engaging respectfully and warmly with families; any concerns should be promptly communicated to the Camp Director
- Modeling punctuality, presence, and professionalism in alignment with our community values
- Upholding all safety and health protocols as outlined in the camp handbook.
Ideal Candidates Will Possess:
- Experience working with children
- A commitment to collaborative teamwork and Waldorf-inspired education
- The ability to lead children in creative, nature-based, and hands-on experiences
- Strong communication and organizational skills

Position Details: Our Extended Day program offers children a peaceful, engaging space to unwind, play, and connect after their camp day ends.
- Camp Dates: June 23 – August 15, 2025 (no camp on July 4)
- Hours: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM daily (3 hours/day)
- Compensation: $32.00/hour
- Background Check: Successful completion required
Key Responsibilities
As an Extended Day Teacher, you will provide care and creative engagement for children during the afternoon hours. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Attending pre-camp orientation and participating in occasional team meetings
- Creating a calm, relaxing atmosphere
- Serving as a compassionate and consistent role model in all after camp activities
- Supervising up to 10 children with attentiveness to their well-being
- Maintaining a clean and welcoming space
- Reporting any concerns promptly to the Camp Director
- Adhering to all health and safety protocols as outlined in camp policies
- Arriving punctually and prepared for each scheduled day

Waldorf School of Princeton
The Waldorf School of Princeton is seeking caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Assistants to join our 2025 Summer Camp team. Rooted in Waldorf principles, our camp provides a nurturing, nature-based environment where young children (ages 2–6) engage in a gentle rhythm through the summer season. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and are especially interested in candidates who reflect the rich cultural makeup of our student community.
Position Details
Schedule: June 23 – August 15, 2025 (no camp on July 4)
Hours: Part-time, Monday–Friday (exact hours vary by class assignment)
Compensation: $20/hour
Background Check: Successful completion required
Key Responsibilities
Early Childhood Assistants help create a calm, nurturing, and engaging camp experience by supporting the rhythm and direction of the lead teacher. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting classroom activities including play, creative projects, circle time, shared meals, and rest
- Supervising children during outdoor play and walks across our 20-acre campus, which includes a biodynamic garden, nearby CSA farm, woods, and a creek
- Helping with practical tasks such as preparing snacks, setting up nap areas, and maintaining a clean and welcoming classroom environment
- Modeling gentle, respectful behavior and using redirection instead of direct commands—often through song and rhythmic cues
- Being present and engaged with campers
- Attending orientation sessions and supporting camp transitions and routines as needed
Ideal Candidates Will Possess:
- Experience working with children ages 2–6 (preferred, not required)
- A willingness to learn Waldorf education methods through guidance and support
- Comfort being outdoors
- A calm, collaborative, and observant nature with a desire to contribute to an inclusive and respectful camp community
