Summer Camp
Sparking imagination, wonder, and exploration
For 4 - 10 year old campers:

Waldorf Summer Camp provides old-fashioned, healthy activities. Days are filled with singing, play, handcrafts, art and nature walks, and yet there is still plenty of time for the children to explore, to create and to dream amidst our 20 acres of fields, forests, gardens and stream in our much-loved camp. During their camp session, children will enjoy a variety of experiences including: tie-dying, water play, bread baking, painting, woodworking and cooperative games with their groups. Healthy Snacks will be provided daily and campers will enjoy a lunch brought from home. We end each two-week session with a festival day full of fun, games and laughter. Nourish your child’s inherent connection to nature and enliven a sense of wonder!

This two-week intensive clay camp will utilize the natural environment of the school campus. We will dig clay from the creek bed, prepare clay with our feet, fire outdoors in a pit, build kilns with fire brick, work on pottery wheels, burnish our pottery, decorate with beads, imbed with creek stones, learn to carve and decorate both sculptural forms and functional pottery with colored clays and glazes. Clay work has been done through the cooperation of groups for thousands of years in many cultures worldwide. Part of the camp experience is to build a productive and friendly group that also enjoys outdoor games, wading in the creek, and picnics at Old Man Tree. All children older than 9 years old (and completed 3rd grade) are invited to sign up. A mixed age group is welcome as long as campers are interested in working intensively in clay.
