SCRIP Fundraising at the
Waldorf School of Princeton
What is SCRIP?
SCRIP (which means money) are gift certificates. The school buys these gift certificates from participating stores at discounts ranging from 5%-19%. Then you can purchase these gift certificates at face value from the school, and use them to make purchases at your favorite stores.
Here is an example: Suppose you usually spend $500 a month at Shop Rite, which offers our school SCRIP at a 5% discount. If you buy Shop Rite SCRIP certificates worth $500 from the school instead of paying Shop Rite directly, the school earns $25 per month on your behalf without any extra cost to you!
Now, imagine if all the families in the school used SCRIP for their super market purchases for the rest of the school year. That would mean the school would raise $30,000 , again... at no extra cost to you!
But it doesn’t stop there… we can get SCRIP for the local health food stores and for a variety of gift, clothing and book stores, etc. You can even use SCRIP as presents for birthdays or holidays. So, we can raise even more funds, again... at no extra cost to you!
How to purchase SCRIP (pdf 7kb)
We have tried to make it as easy as possible for everyone to purchase SCRIP. We currently have several options available for ordering and pick up, and we are open to suggestions on how we can make it even easier for you.
Ordering options:

Attached to each bi-weekly PLP you will find a SCRIP order form. You can fill out this form and place it in our order drop-off envelopes located at the grade school building entrance, in the Golden House office, at the Hopewell campus, or simply fax it to the office.

*SCRIP order deadlines will be each Monday at 3:00pm. Distribution will be the following week.
Pick- up options:

You can pick up your SCRIP on Monday mornings at the school store.

OR, you can pick up your SCRIP at the main campus on Thursdays at pick-up time, or at the Hopewell campus on Thursdays at noon.

OR, you can request that your SCRIP be sent home with your child in a special neon colored envelop that your child’s teacher will make sure gets into your child’s back pack.
You can also place bi-weekly or monthly standing orders to make participating in the SCRIP program even easier! If you have a business, you can include your services in the SCRIP program. It is a good promotion for your business in our community; it will benefit the school, and also save on your business taxes!
