Tuition Assistance

Our Affordability Options

The Waldorf School of Princeton is dedicated to working with parents to create a plan that enables students of diverse backgrounds to attend the school. Committing to a private school education is a significant financial investment for a family. Although the school strives to support families with demonstrated financial need, the primary responsibility for financing a student’s education rests with his or her family, including non-custodial, separated, and divorced parents. In addition to the options provided by the school, parents may need to look to other sources for additional support.

The School provides needs-based tuition assistance to qualified students.

Priority is given to returning students and siblings. We do not discriminate in the administration of our policies because of race, creed, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, or any other characteristic protected by law. Financial aid decisions are made independently of the admissions process.

Approximately 35 percent of our students receive some tuition assistance. Our tuition assistance program is managed by TADS (Tuition Aid Data Services). To apply please fill out an application via TADS (see below). TADS takes into account income, expenses, number of family members, indebtedness, liquidity of assets, and unusual expenses. Financial information and documentation is required from all of the children’s parents. The school commits a portion of each year’s tuition revenue to support the tuition assistance program. This revenue is distributed to applicants based on relative demonstrated financial need. Consequently, grants are made for one year and applications for tuition assistance must be renewed each year.

The entire financial aid process, including grants and applications, is confidential.

Tuition Assistance Application Deadlines for Returning Students

February 1: Apply electronically via TADS website. (A paper copy may be downloaded at the address as well.) All supporting documentation must be sent to TADS (See TADS website for more details).

February 22: Tax return from previous year due to TADS.

First week in April: Tuition assistance grant award letters are sent to families.

Timing for New Students

Families are considered for tuition assistance throughout the year. Families should apply for tuition assistance at when they apply for admission to the school. Once the child has been interviewed and accepted, the tuition grant will be communicated to the family. Acceptance to the school is need blind, but a family may wait until after acceptance to apply for tuition assistance.

Payment Plans

The Waldorf School of Princeton offers several payment plan options. Families may pay for the tuition annually, semi-annually, quarterly, or monthly. A 4% service charge is applied to payment plans.

Under some circumstances you might want to explore tuition loan programs. These loan programs offer competitive rates and the opportunity to make your payments over a longer period of time. The Waldorf School of Princeton is registered with Your Tuition Solution as well as Sallie Mae K-12 Educational Loans.

The Multi-Child Discount

Families with more than one child enrolled in our school can take advantage of our Multi-Student Discount. A sibling discount of 5% for the second child, 10% for the third child, and 15% for the fourth child (and so on) will be applied by the school to the tuition. Discounts are applied against the tuition of the youngest child’s tuition. The Multi-Student Discount cannot be combined with tuition assistance.
