We believe that Waldorf Education should be accessible to all families who value and are committed to it, regardless of their economic circumstances. Our financial aid and sibling discount programs support this goal, and the families participating in these programs have contributed significantly to the economic diversity of the school as well as to its spiritual and social growth.

How Tuition Assistance Works
We are dedicated to enabling students of diverse backgrounds to attend the school, and work in partnership with committed families to develop workable plans. Committing to an independent school education is a significant financial investment. While we strive to support families with demonstrated financial need, a student’s family, including non-custodial, separated and divorced parents, and extended family bear primary responsibility for financing their education. In addition to the options provided by the school, committed parents may need to look to other sources for additional support. Sometimes, it takes a village! But it’s worth it.
Priority is given to returning students and siblings. We do not discriminate by race, creed, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, or any other characteristic protected by law. Financial aid decisions are wholly needs-based and made independently of the admissions process. The entire financial aid process, including grants and applications, is confidential.
Our tuition assistance program is managed by TADS (Tuition Aid Data Services). To apply for tuition assistance:
First, apply for admission.
Second, submit a tuition assistance request via TADS. TADS takes into account income, expenses, number of family members, indebtedness, liquidity of assets, and unusual expenses. Financial information and documentation is required from all the children’s parents. Tuition awards are made for one year and applications for tuition assistance must be renewed each year.
Tuition Assistance Application Deadlines for Returning Students
February 1: Apply electronically via TADS website. (A paper copy may be downloaded at the address as well.) All supporting documentation must be sent to TADS (See TADS website for more details).
February 22: Tax return from previous year due to TADS.
First week in April: Tuition assistance grant award letters are sent to families.
Timing for New Students
Families are considered for tuition assistance throughout the year. Families should apply for tuition assistance at www.TADS.com after submitting the admissions application to the school. Once the child has been interviewed and accepted, the tuition grant will be communicated to the family. Acceptance to the school is need blind, but a family may wait until after acceptance to apply for tuition assistance.
The Waldorf School of Princeton offers several payment plan options. Families may pay for the tuition annually, semi-annually, quarterly, or monthly. A 4% service charge is applied to payment plans.
Under some circumstances you might want to explore tuition loan programs. These loan programs offer competitive rates and the opportunity to make your payments over a longer period of time. The Waldorf School of Princeton is registered with Your Tuition Solution as well as Sallie Mae K-12 Educational Loans.
