School Administrator

The Waldorf School of Princeton is seeking a School Administrator to begin July 1, 2015. The Waldorf School of Princeton is a vibrant, K-8 private school founded in 1983. The school operates on principles, developed by Rudolf Steiner, that focus on transforming education into an art that educates the whole child — the heart, the hands and the head.

The School Administrator is responsible to the Board of Trustees and provides the fundamental connection between the administrative staff, the faculty and the parent body.

The ideal candidate will have extensive training and experience in Waldorf Education, combined with a wealth of experience in business operations and people management.

The successful candidate will be an individual who is an effective communicator, an advocate of the benefits of Waldorf Education, and a strong proponent for the continuous evolution of the school and the ongoing professional development of its faculty and staff. As a strong manager, this individual will be able to link strategic plans with fiscal realities, and be able to help define and work within a budget.

This is a full-time, year-round salaried position. Benefits include a competitive salary, tuition remission and generous family health insurance.

Qualification Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required; graduate training is desired but not essential. * At least three years’ experience in progressive leadership, teaching and managerial roles at a Waldorf school or other similar institution. * Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships among coworkers, parents, students and members of the wider community. * A demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills including the ability to organize, prioritize, delegate and coordinate work assignments.

The School Administrator should be a well-rounded, compassionate individual who can work collaboratively with all of the constituencies of the school to ensure the smooth and healthy operation of the institution and foster the school’s ongoing evolution and the growth of the school community.
